Meet Board-Certified New York Plastic Surgeon Dr. Polynice

Alain Polynice, MD, FACS, is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Upon completing his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, Dr. Polynice undertook a traveling fellowship around the world visiting and training with plastic surgeons in the United States, Australia, South America, Asia, and Europe. As a result of working with world leaders in plastic surgery, Dr. Polynice brings exceptional knowledge and skills of the latest cutting-edge procedures in breast and body contouring, as well as facial rejuvenation.

Dr. Polynice’s international background and training also give him keen insight into the needs of patients across many cultural lines. In addition to English Dr. Polynice is fluent in French, Spanish and Haitian Creole and has been published in several peer-reviewed medical journals. He is also the author of many book chapters and in 2006 authored the book: Your Complete Guide to Breast Reduction and Breast Lifts.

Dr. Polynice received his medical degree from the Pontifical Catholic University, Dominican Republic. He did his surgical internship at Rangueil University Hospital in Toulouse, France and completed his surgical residency at North Shore University Hospital in New York. He then completed a burn fellowship at New York Hospital, Weill-Cornell Medical Center. He then went on to complete his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the world renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. Dr. Polynice is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgery, and the New York Regional Society of Facial Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Polynice is an Attending Physician at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan, where he is involved in resident training and teaching. Dr. Polynice holds a faculty position at New York Medical College, serving as Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery.
